Features & Ethics Explained

On each product page we have made it easy to quickly review the features, whether ethical or technical. Here we explain them a little more detail to be totally transparent for you to align your personal values with your purchasing.

water resistant

The materials in this product have water-resistant performance, helping protect your stuff from spills and other mishaps. The world of adventure isn't pristine so we have made our products with this in mind!

washable

This product is washable to make it as easy as possible to keep your kit clean.

An added bonus to water-resistance, this means the product is shower-proof too. This usually means its full coverage to protect its contents (whether you or your kit). We can't promise it's deluge proof - sometimes the British weather just isn't our friend!

 thermo regulating

Helping to keep the right temperature, whether warm or cool.

ideas and activities

This is great for inspiring you (or your family and friends) to get outdoors. Sometimes that extra nudge is needed, and we want to help everyone to enjoy the outdoors.

Customise

Customise this product to make it extra special (or maybe you are buying more than one for the same household - everyone will know which one is theirs!)

durable

Obviously, we want all our products to be reusable for a looooonnng time. And generally they are! But sometimes we've highlighted which ones are particularly rugged or long-lasting by comparison. Sometimes this means we've tested this by accidently dropping it onto solid stone flooring (ahem, insulated bottle), for example . . . naming no names.

Keep things handy, secure and easy to reach with everyone's favourite, pockets! Don't lose your keys/money/biscuit - its all super convenient for you.

vegan products

This item does not contain animal products. We have tended to keep this relevant to what might be reasonably associated with animal products (e.g. bags which could be made from leather). Some products are obviously not animal based to start with and we find it a bit of a cop out that some shops stick vegan on things which are/were anyway. (I'll get off my high horse now).

small maker

Produced by small makers or manufacturers around the UK and the world. Some of them also feature on our Meet the Maker page so you can get to know about where your products come from in even more detail.

natural materials

Products with this label are 100% or majority made from natural materials. This mean things that occur or grow in nature like plant fibres. They are part of the natural world's life cycle and therefore more biodegradable.

responsible sourcing

We only buy from places we trust so that we can offer truly better alternatives to some of the products on the market. Products with this label mean they have extra great credentials such as certified materials.

plastic free

If you are anything like us, you might be trying to reduce the plastic waste from your life. This is a particularly important feature for us and we only introduce plastic where its absolutely the appropriate material. There's a reason most recycled polyester is made from clear plastic bottles - so where does all the rest of it go? Hmmmm. Products with this label take the dilemma away.

 made in britain

We all know Made in Britain isn't an ethical catch-all, but we like to highlight where we are supporting UK-local businesses, helping jobs and the economy, and keeping transport mileage low to minimise carbon emissions.

We hope you like this! If you would like any more info, please feel free to contact us at hello@enjoyecobox.co.uk
